Meeting Descriptions:

"Homeschooling: Building a Firm Foundation"
Get started on the Right Foot. First, home education is not an attempt to recreate a public school classroom in the home.  Second, just about any homeschool curriculum used consistently will get good academic results. And three: just relax and have fun! We'll discuss how to get started, setting goals, picking curriculum and overcoming new homeschoolers' jitters. As always, we take any other questions you may have about homeschooling.

"Homeschooling: Building to Code"
An explanation for the Maryland Home School laws. We'll discuss the legality and a homeschooler's legal responsibility to comply. As well as help you discover what is enough.  We’ll answer such questions as, 'what’s an “umbrella?,’ 'how do I make a portfolio?', and 'is testing required?'  As always, we take any other questions you may have about homeschooling.

"Homeschooling: Building for Excellence"
Now that you know the basics, this meeting focuses on fine tuning. We will be discussing how to tailor your home school to individual needs, while still maintaining a high standard of excellence. Here is where you can really take hold of the many advantages to homeschooling.  What is excellence and how do you evaluate for it? As always, we take any other questions you may have about homeschooling.

"Homeschooling: Building to last"
Homeschooling is not a sprint, but a marathon. How to keep your long term goals alive amidst the daily battles.  Whether your goal is to homeschool just for the current year or from k-12, you need to understand the importance of long term goals and steps to get there.  We will especially talk about the midyear blues and 'itis' that normally hits homeschool moms during the winter blahs. As always, we take any other questions you may have about homeschooling.
